A Little about me and my experience...
Akin’ Harrison lives in Lagos Nigeria where
he also graduated from the Lagos State University, School Of
Communication (LASU-SOC).
In 1996, he was a freelance scriptwriter for Federal Radio
Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and Voice Of Nigeria (VON), both
in Ikoyi Lagos, where he wrote scripts for Youth Magazine and
Radio Drama scripts Theatre on Air.
His passion for Film and Television motivated him to join the
Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN)
where he also did professional courses in Film/TV scriptwriting,
Producing and Directing at the ITPAN Training School.
His career in Film and Television took another step in 1998 when
he wrote the Movie screenplays Travails of the freshman,
Parvenu, and Homeland.
He joined Delite Productions in the year 2000, where he worked
as Assistant Director on the Movie productions of Brothers' Act,
The gods are not to blame, and The way.
He wrote screenplay and directed a short Digital-film titled
Pathway in 2003 and it was screened at the second National film
festival in Nigeria, now Zuma Festival.
He later worked from 2003 to 2005 with Alphavision Multimedia as
a Unit Director on Soundcity and MTN (GSM service provider) TV
Commercials Na Boy and Say Yes, and another TV Commercial, Ariel
soap detergent's Big Ball.
Akin' Harrison was DSTV/ Technical Director on BigBrother TV
reality show when its version was co-produced in Nigeria in 2006
by Endemol Nigeria, MNET cable TV and Storm vision.
As an introduction into the Celluloid filmmaking process in
October 2008, Akin' Harrison worked as Assistant Director on a
16mm short Film Abo'baku with South Africa's MNET New Directions
Initiative.
He also wrote the screenplay and Directed another short Digital
film, 'Sisi’ in 2008.
In 2010, Akin’ Harrison Directed Royal Roots Communication’s TV
Drama My Mum & I, a Situation-Comedy Bella’s Place, and comedy
House-A-Part.
