I am a BA Communications graduate from Unisa, specialsing in Film and Media. I also have an honours qualification in Marketing Management from UCT.
My love for film began during Varsity, assisting friends on sett for their student films, as a production assistant, I did this through out my final year in 2009, the following year I ensembled a creative team of photographers and videographers for an online battle of the bands competition called Global Moguls, our task was to promote local artists, by creating media content for them, photo shoots, album cover, art work, promotional material and a full length music video ( using a Sony Z1 HD video camera ) for local band called Jam Jarr from Cape Town. I co-produced and directed the music video and managed all aspects of the team. I put together a creative team for a documentary project I’m currently working on the moment, on the Cape Town music industry, this involved conceptualising the concept as well as arranging the shoot, managing and organising the team together. I have done live music shoots at various events and festivals throughout Cape Town, for various event websites, events including Earth Dance, Rocking The Daisies, Cape Town Fashion week, Rezonance and Sprung music festival to name a few ( equipment used, Sony Z1 HD camera, Canon 600D, Canon EOS-1D Mark IV, Nikon D3100, Canon 550D ) I have recently gotten into action sports photography, recently shot the Ultimate X Games in Cape Town.
I have done behind the scenes shots on a few short films, music videos, one commercial, and one international fashion shoot, I hope to pursue more of these shoots in the near future, build up my portfolio further and establish myself as a fulltime professional photographer.
