Job description and activities

As a Unit production manager I am the producer's deputy and responsible for:

• Organizing all the essential support facilities for the team;
• Resolving the day-to-day problems of filming and coordinating the other activities
  (e.g., camera, sound, editorial and music);
• Providing worldwide turn-key, project management, logistics, planning, expediting, permit procurement,
  scheduling, cost tracking, remote
  camp services, transportation, staging and warehousing and bringing
  the production in on budget.

Typical work activities include:

• Organizing the location/set, props and equipment, accommodation and catering, crew
  hire and employment contracts;
• Tallying the running costs;
• Sorting out any issues or conflicts that may arise. On large and small
  productions, such as TV commercial’s documentaries, Music video’s, Short
  films, live recording.

Experienced in TV and film productions, perhaps I started as a runner, researcher, floor manager,
and production co-ordinator. The right personality, with energy and enthusiasm
for the industry, this has counts for me more than courses and training.
